Why some contests still exclude Quebec
For a long time, a promotional contest open to Quebec had to be declared to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, with fees, so many brands got used to excluding Quebec. That framework ended with a law sanctioned on October 27, 2023, but many rules still exclude Quebec. Across Canada, the Competition Act requires the rules to state clearly the number and value of prizes, who can enter and what affects the chances of winning.
Keep the photo for yourself too
In Maliah, every photo shared with the family goes into the first-year book: milestones, first tastes, growth and everyone’s notes. The preview is free; the printed book can be ordered in the Shop.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I find a baby contest in 2026?
This page lists 11, by region, with their dates and official rules. We check it again every month.
Should a baby contest be free?
Yes. A contest that asks you to pay to enter or to get votes is not a real contest: we do not list it.
Why do some contests exclude Quebec?
For a long time, a contest open to Quebec had to be declared to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, with fees. That framework ended in October 2023, but many rules still exclude Quebec out of habit.
What happens to my baby’s photo?
Read the rules: many brands get the right to use the photo in their ads. Choose a photo with no name, no location and no other children’s faces.
