Maliah

Terms of use

Last updated: October 17, 2026. Version française · Versión en español

These terms govern your use of Maliah, the family tracking app available on iPhone, Android and the web (app.maliah.ca), and of the maliah.ca website. Maliah is operated by Techma inc., a Québec company (“Maliah”, “we”). By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use Maliah.

1. The service

Maliah helps a family follow each child, from pregnancy through childhood: feeds, diapers, sleep, food, health, calendar, tasks, messages between members, and an assistant that logs what you tell it. Tracking is shared among the members you invite, each with the access level the parents choose.

2. Maliah does not replace a health professional

Maliah is an organizing tool. The app and its assistant make no diagnosis, give no medical advice and never calculate a medicine dose. The guidance shown (stages, reminders, trends) is general and does not take your child’s particular situation into account. For any question about a child’s health or a pregnancy, see a health professional. In an emergency, call 911. In Québec, Info-Santé answers at 811, day and night.

3. Your account

4. The family, invitations and access

A family’s parents invite the other members (other parent, grandparents, babysitter…) and set what each one can see and do. An invitation is valid for 7 days. By inviting someone, you confirm that you have the right to share with that person the information about your children you give them access to. Access is enforced by our servers; remove a member or lower their access as soon as they should no longer see the tracking.

5. What you enter

What you and your family enter in Maliah (tracking entries, photos, messages, notes) belongs to you. You only grant us the right to host it, process it and show it to authorized members, in order to run the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export all of the family’s data and delete it at any time. Each entry keeps its author and its time.

6. The assistant and artificial intelligence

The assistant understands what you say or write and offers to add entries to your tracking. It can make mistakes: check what it logged. Every entry created by the assistant is marked as such and can be undone. AI-written summaries draw on your tracking and may be incomplete. Assistant use is limited by plan (for example, 45 minutes of voice per month per family with Maliah Plus); the app remains usable without the assistant.

7. Plans, trial and payment

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Maliah to track a person without the right to do so, harass a member, post illegal content or content that infringes others’ rights, try to access another family’s data, get around the service’s limits or security, or copy, resell or decompile the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, after notifying you when possible.

9. Maliah’s property

The app, the website, the Maliah name, its logo, its text and its educational content belong to Techma inc. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for family, non-commercial purposes, as long as you respect these terms.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Maliah available and reliable, but the service can be interrupted (maintenance, outage, network). Always keep your children’s essential information (allergies, emergency contact, doctor) available outside the app. We may change features; if we remove a major paid feature or shut down the service, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to export your data.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Maliah is provided as is, and Techma inc. is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service, or for decisions made based on the tracking or the assistant. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits the rights you have under Québec’s Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable law, or our liability for intentional or gross fault.

12. App Store and Google Play

If you downloaded Maliah from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are between you and Techma inc., not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, its content, maintenance or support, and have no warranty obligation regarding it; any claim related to the app (including intellectual property or legal compliance) is addressed to us. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on a list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. The App Store or Google Play usage rules also apply.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live. Before any claim, write to us: most questions are settled quickly.

14. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a significant way, the app will tell you when you open it at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the date above will be updated. If you do not accept the new terms, you can cancel your subscription and delete your account.
