Why leave a written sheet

When you’re heading out the door, something always slips your mind: nap time, the name of the stuffed animal, the door code. A written sheet saves texts in the middle of the evening and reassures everyone, especially the first time. Naître et grandir suggests leaving the babysitter your contact details, the full home address, a neighbour’s number, when you’ll be back, the routine, allergies and any off-limits areas.

What the sheet includes

911, Info-Santé 811 and the Québec Poison Control Centre are added automatically.

A few tips

Walk through the house with the babysitter before you leave and show them the exits. Stick the sheet on the fridge or near the door. If your child is on a treatment, give your instructions in person and write them in the notes exactly as your health professional gave them: the sheet doesn’t calculate anything.

With Maliah, the babysitter sees everything live

A paper sheet is frozen the moment you print it. In Maliah, you can give the babysitter or grandma babysitting access: they see the last feed, the last nap and today’s routine, and log things themselves by voice (“Léa is asleep”). You get everything with the time and the person’s name, and the weekly recap keeps track of every babysitting night.

Frequently asked questions

What should I leave for a babysitter?

Your phone numbers, a neighbour’s number, the home address, when you’ll be back, the children’s routine, their allergies, house rules and where to find the first aid kit.

Which emergency numbers should I list in Québec?

911 for emergencies, Info-Santé 811 for non-urgent health questions, and the Québec Poison Control Centre at 1-800-463-5060. The sheet adds them automatically.

Can I list a medication?

You can write your instructions in the notes field, exactly as your health professional gave them. The tool doesn’t calculate any dose or give any advice.

Is my information sent anywhere?

No. It stays in your browser, on this device, so you can print the sheet again later. The Clear button deletes it.

Does the sheet work for grandparents too?

Yes. It’s for anyone looking after your children: babysitter, grandparents, a neighbour or a friend.
